Kerry
Ford joined Gulfstream Property and Casualty, MGA,
Inc. on June 30, 2006, as Director of Underwriting and Product
Development. Kerry has over 22 years of insurance underwriting
and marketing experience within the Florida market.
After graduating
from college, Kerry began his insurance career in life and
group health sales. In 1979, he joined American Family Insurance
Company, working in Duluth Minnesota, as a Property and Casualty
Personal Lines Field Underwriter.
In 1985, Kerry
and his family moved to Tampa, Florida, where he worked with
The Royal Insurance Group as a Senior Personal Lines Underwriter.
In 1988, he became the Personal Lines Manager for The Seibels
Bruce Group, Inc. in Orlando, Florida where he was responsible
for managing the company’s auto, homeowner and dwelling
fire results statewide.
The creation
of Florida’s FRPCJUA in the 1990s created many insurance
related opportunities, and in 1998, Kerry joined Florida Select
Insurance Company in Sarasota, Florida, as their Personal
Lines Underwriting Manager. In addition to managing the underwriting
results for the “take out” business, he was responsible
for developing new voluntary property programs in Florida
and South Carolina, and appointing agents throughout both
states to write new business.
In 2005, Kerry
was promoted to Vice President of Operations for Florida Select,
where he assumed additional responsibilities in marketing
and management of operations for the company in its Sarasota
office.
Kerry holds a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management, from the
University of Wisconsin.
